Tips to Celebrate Mother’s Day This Year
Mother’s Day is tomorrow and while you cannot go out to the restaurant to have a big family dinner or bring her shopping to celebrate, there are still ways you can celebrate Mother’s Day and make your mother feel special this year. Here are some tips from MR.DIY:
Cook Something for Her
If you are lucky enough to be in quarantine with your mother during this time, you can offer to cook something for her. A great way to start is to prepare a big and healthy breakfast that consist of her favorite drink, favorite breakfast meal and some healthy fruits. Not only that, but have the meal together with her and tell her how much you appreciate her, especially in times like these. On the other hand, if your mother is not staying in the same home as you, you can get delivery to send the homemade food to her, to show that you are thinking about her.
Give Her a Break & Clean the Home for Her
Other than cooking for your mother, one of the best present or gesture you can give her is to give her a break. That means no cleaning the house and more relaxing on her special day! Prepare some nice shower gel with some candles for her to relax and a good book or a nice movie to spend the time with while you get on with cleaning.
DIY a Gift for Her
One thing you can do for your mother while staying at home is to DIY a gift for her. Taking the time to handmake a special gift will show her how much you appreciate her. You can make buy a little of her favorite things and make a little hamper out of it. Another idea is to create a painting for her or create a very nice card for her. Surely, your mother will appreciate these gestures no matter what the gift is.
Organize a Virtual Party
If you are miles away from your mother, one of the best things you can do in this situation is to organize a virtual party for her. Ask everyone to share something they appreciate about Mom — a special story, photograph, or a favorite recipe. The most important thing for you to do is to get online and participate.
Let’s show our appreciation to our mothers for their sacrifices!
