KUALA LUMPUR, 17 September 2021 – 250 families from Program Perumahan Rakyat [PPR] Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur recently received hygiene packs from Malaysia’s largest home improvement retailer, MR D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad or (“MR.DIY’), in conjunction with the Lembah Pantai Merdeka Charity 2021 event. The event was organised by CIMB Alumni.
The contribution of the hygiene packs, which contained MR.DIY face masks and hand sanitisers, was part of the retailer’s ‘Stay Safe, Malaysia’ initiative which was launched in March 2020 to support the national fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Commenting on the contribution, MR D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad Chairman, Dato’ Azlam Shah Alias said “As a homegrown Malaysian brand, we want to support Malaysians as much as we can. With businesses reopening and people returning to workplaces after the lockdown, it is important for everyone to take critical measures to prevent the spread of the virus and avoid the resurgence of cases. By providing hygiene packs to the families in PPR Lembah Pantai, we can help more people stay safe and live up to the rallying cry “Lindung Diri, Lindung Semua’. We also hope that this will promote more awareness of the need to stay vigilant.”
MR.DIY has been a strong supporter of the national fight against COVID-19, donating a wide range of personal protective equipment to healthcare frontliners across the country; oxygen concentrators to hospitals in need; face shields and screens to the uniformed forces, as well as care packs to families affected by the pandemic. Two weeks ago, the retailer contributed much-needed equipment to University of Malaya Medical Center (UMMC), to help frontliners monitor the vital signs of patients undergoing COVID-19 treatment.
