Pusat Tuisyen Sinaran Impian (PTSI) received learning and educational toys from MR.TOY, Malaysia’s first home-grown toy store chain last week to help the special needs children’s learning at PTSI.
The toys were presented by representatives from MRDIY Cares to PTSI’s founder, Dr. Shirley Joseph, and Ms. Laura Joseph, held on 9 December 2022 at the tuition centre in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
MR.DIY has long supported the special needs community throughout the years. Through its subsidiary MR.TOY, they have contributed 19 sets of selected toys that aid in the skill development of children who have physical, cognitive, or developmental disabilities to the centre who catered playgroups settings for them.
The toys contributed, which can be found at MR.TOY, are suitable for young children from underprivileged communities with Down Syndrome, Autism, and other developmental disabilities. This contribution helps to encourage and improve their communication skills as well as social stimulation. The children will enjoy playing and it's enriching and gives a formative experience to them.
MR.DIY believes the importance of education for the special needs children shouldn’t encompass reading and writing but developing gross and fine motor skills, self-help skills are equally important to them as traditional academic skills.
