In conjunction with Malaysia Day, the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB) has organized the Selangor Blind Ride on 16 September 2022. This annual cycling programme which had been postponed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, aimed to instill love and patriotism towards the visually impaired communities.
A total of 17 visually impaired cyclists, with the assistance of 17 volunteers who acted as tandem front riders and marshals, embarked on the 90KM ride journey from the MAB Complex in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur to Seri Bayu Resort, Bagan Lalang, Selangor.
This expedition was supported by the state of Selangor government, MR.DIY, Dana Kita Charity Organization as well as Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ). MR.DIY has sponsored goodies bags consisting of items such as cream buns, isotonic drinks, snacks, face masks as well as mini-Malaysian flags.
